I’ve started with LGB around my 15th birthday (1986). From my parents I received a starter set.

Later that year I bought a small layout second hand. That’s when I started the garden layout.

Together with my father (who had a N-Scale model railroad indoors) we started to build a layout. First on wooden poles, later on concrete tiles. My choice was a dubbel track layout with some single parts ( pictures can be found on the Photo / Video page)

A year later I changed the layout again and made a extra loop in it, to get more tracks in the garden.

All the track is fixed on pavement tiles (30*30 cm) For the tunnel I used tiles (60*30 cm) which are straight up and one on top. For the mountainlook I used 3M Primacast on chicken-wire and covered it with concrete and some dirt.

For the inner corners I used LGB 15000. The outer one I bended myself.

For the control of the layout I use a Zimo MX1. When I started with my layout in my own garden I wanted to control the layout digital. LGB just started with MZS and there were still some problems so after some research on the net I choose Zimo. All locs are equipt with Zimo decoders. The turnouts are controlled through the MX1 with LGB 55028.

I married when I was 28 and we moved into our own house with garden in 1999.  In 2001 I started to layout some tracks to see what was possible in our garden. Its about 8 meters long and 5,5 meters wide. At fist I tried to work around the Garden-

shed but the station became to small, so I went through the shed .

I stopped with the layout after it was vandalised during the winter of 1992. Another reasons was that I didn’t know how long I would be living with my parents.

All my tracks are connected with rail clamps like shown below.
